Dr. Goman Ho is a Director at Arup Group. He joined Arup in 1992 after his postgraduate study. He was heavily involved in a lot of tall building and long span projects from analysis, design to construction. His research interests include stability and nonlinear transient analysis. He was the project manager of 300m tall Cheung Kong Center in HK, 700,000 m2 Beijing Fortune Plaza mixed development, the tallest building in Beijing - 330m China World Trade Center, 254m tall CCTV, 3km long Beijing Capital International Airport T3, National Stadium, Water Cube, BJ Exhibition and Conference Center, 500m diameter Beijing South Station, 380m ETON Dalian Center, 333m tall Tianjin Kerry Center, 600m TJ 117 in Tianjin, and 550m Z15 project in Beijing etc.
He received the Joint Divisions (HKIE-Structural Division and IStructE) special structures award on Cheung Kong Center, Cheung Kong Center Footbridge, National Stadium and Beijing International Airport. For projects in China, ZhanTianyou awards were granted to National Stadium, WaterCube, BJ Airport and BJ Exhibition and Conference Center. He was the past-president of ASCE Hong Kong Section and currently a fellow member of HKISC and editor of an international Journal of Advanced Steel Construction. He is a Professional Engineer in Hong Kong and also with class 1 structural engineer qualification in China. He provides lectures in various Hong Kong and China universities such as Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University, Tsing Hua University and TongJi University etc. Dr Ho had published around 40 technical papers in international journals, conference proceedings, symposium and seminars etc.
