Felino A. Palafox, Jr. is an architect, environmental planner, urban planner, and development consultant – educated at the Christ the King Mission Seminary, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, and Harvard. He is also registered as an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Architect and a recipient of several national and international awards.
Mr. Palafox was a guest lecturer in various institutions such as Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Asian Institute of Management, and the Ateneo Professional Schools. He spoke in conferences in Canada, Japan, Vietnam, China, Singapore, Germany, Spain, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Moreover, he is an active officer and member of various organizations like Co-Chair of the Environment Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, International Associate of the American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, Congress for the New Urbanism, American Planning Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the US Green Building Council.
He is the first and only Architect, Urban Planner, and Environmental Planner to be elected President of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP). MAP is a 60-year-old management organization whose 740 members represent a cross-section of CEOs, COOs and other top management practitioners from the largest local and multinational companies in the Philippines. MAP also counts some top management educators and government officials as its members.
In 1989, he founded Palafox Associates, a world-renowned architectural design and planning firm in the Philippines. For the past 22 years, he led and managed his firm in the planning of more than 12 billion square meters of land area and the architectural design of more than eight million square meters of building floor area, undertaking more than 800 projects in 34 countries.
Through the years, Palafox Associates has been setting the benchmark in the Philippine planning, architecture and design scenes. In less than 10 years, it has emerged as a top Filipino architecture firm recognized by the London-based World Architecture magazine. Before its 15th year, it has metamorphosed into the top Southeast Asian architecture, planning, engineering, environmental design, and interior design firm, having been ranked 94th in the world in 2006. The firm also has ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications from the TUV of Germany for Quality and Environmental Management Systems. For seven years in a row, BCI Asia has cited it as one of the Top Ten Architectural Firms in the Philippines. |
