While gathering in New York City for the 3rd meeting of the Research, Academic and Postgraduate Working Group in the first week of April 2011, the attendees took the opportunity to visit some under construction and recently completed tall buildings in the ever-exciting Big Apple. Each project visited represents a distinctive and timely theme within the tall building world, ie. height (One World Trade Center), safety design (7 World Trade Center), inner-city residential tall buildings (New York by Gehry), mixed-use (Time Warner Center) and environmental/energy-saving issues (Bank of America at One Bryant Park). Organized by the working group co-chair Dario Trabucco of the University of Venice and Julie Hiromoto of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the tours offered some very interesting insights behind the scenes of some of New York City’s latest landmarks.

Please select one of the following skyscrapers for a report of the tour:
- World Trade Center
- New York by Gehry
- Bank of America at One Bryant Park
- Time Warner Center
