Canada is in the midst of a tall building boom. Twenty six buildings taller than 150 meters have been built in Canada since 2005. Canada added four buildings taller than 200 meters in 2012, the most Canada has ever completed in a single year.

Oklahoma City Tower is Tallest Completed in U.S. This Year
Oklahoma City is the unlikely setting for the tallest building completed in the United States this year. Tenants are moving into Devon Tower, which hits 850 feet (259 meters) tall. In addition to the tallest built in the U.S. this year, it is expected to be the third tallest building completed in the world this year.

A Year in Review: Trends of 2011
In January of each year, CTBUH publishes a review of tall building construction and statistics from the previous year. 2012 Student Competition Launched
The 2nd Annual International Student Tall Building Design Competition, sponsored by KONE with prizes totaling $27,000 in value will be held in conjunction with the CTBUH 9th World Congress Shanghai 2012.

The CTBUH staff observed history being made as Chicago’s past meets Chicago’s future in the Roosevelt University buildings. A perfect fusion of old and new; it is truly a unique facility for an active and vibrant urban organization.
