The Vertical Architecture STudio © is run by eminent academic and author Chris Abel. Chris has convened the studio at a number of higher education institutions around the world, including the University of Sydney, Faculty of Architecture, the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, College of Architecture and the University of New South Wales, Faculty of the Built Environment. The studio, which marks a departure from conventional high-rise studies, was created to explore the possibilities and implications of the new movement for tall building urban form. Research focuses on alternative models of sustainable high-rise design, and new kinds of spatial and functional relationships between tall buildings. The design output from the studio has been widely published, including in the CTBUH Journal, Architectural Review Australia and the Journal Star, Lincoln, Nebraska.
