CTBUH-Funded Research Project Culminates with Launch of New Website

Made possible with generous support from ECADI
July 28, 2015

See more on the 2014 Research Seed Funding is an online resource for the AEC community, from architects to academic researchers, which hosts hundreds of building projects, with completions spanning from 1950–2015, which have undergone or are in the process of a retrofit.

The site features:

  • Highly customizable search functionality allowing users to easily narrow in on desired content
  • Glossary of helpful terms to explore
  • Expertly vetted resources to support further investigation
CTBUH encourages our members to use this resource, as well as to continue to grow the database through contributions. The site’s creators aim to close an important gap in sustainable development by providing readily accessible building façade retrofit data and related resources to guide deep energy retrofits from concept to built realities.

This project was made possible by a generous award of $20,000 by ECADI (East China Architectural Design and Research Institute) to conduct research on façade retrofits for tall buildings, through the CTBUH 2014 Seed Funding Initiative. is a collaborative development between the University of Southern California School of Architecture, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and the Advanced Technology Studio of Enclos, a leading façade design and engineering contractor.
