Burj Jumeirah Inaugurated in Dubai

UAE-based real estate company Dubai Holding has unveiled a new oval-shaped skyscraper for Dubai called the Burj Jumeirah, part of a wider master plan called “Downtown Jumeirah”.

The project was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, on 31 January 2019.

Burj Jumeirah will be located close to Burj Al Arab in Al Sufouh, and is set to become the “centerpiece” of Downtown Jumeirah, a new master plan envisioned by the developer, comprising a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use urban development.

According to Dubai Media Office, the 550-meter Burj Jumeirah will comprise multiple observation decks, offering panoramic views of the city.

The façade of the building is also set to feature digital displays that will be utilized for various occasions and celebrations.

The architecture firm behind the tower has not yet been confirmed, however the developer has announced that construction on the building will commence immediately, with Phase 1 due to the delivered in 2023.

“Upon completion, [Burj Jumeirah] will be home to both residential and commercial towers and hotels, as well as [food and beverage] concepts,” Dubai Holding said.
